Maja Starring On Stage in Bratislava
Award-winning singer, actress and entertainer Maja Velsicova is starring in a new show opening in Bratislava, Slovakia on May 11. The play "The Oldest Profession" was written by an American playwright and winner of the Pulitzerr prize Paula Vogel.

Five aging practitioners of the oldest profession are faced with a diminishing clientele, increased competition for their niche market, and arthritis. With wit, compassion and humor, they struggle to find and learn new tricks as they fight to stay in the Life. The Oldest Profession has been performed internationally in the United States, Mexico, Canada, Poland, and now Slovakia.

Renown Slovak director Lubomir Paulovic has cast the cream of the crop of Slovak theater: in addition to Maja, the show features Mrs. Landlova, Mrs. Kralovicova, Mrs. Rapaicova and Mrs. Kotrsova.

International music agency has selected Maja's song "V Trave Si Posteliem" from her fourth CD to represent Slovakia at the European Union Summit in Athens, Greece this summer.
